Slope D Dreadnought
Guitar An "old favorite"" guitar shape based on the old
Gibson J-45, but sounding like a true dreadnought. The instrument shown
has an Engelmann spruce top and braces, East Indian Rosewood back &
sides, Mahogany neck, Ebony fingerboard & bridge, traditional back
strip and Herringbone trim. Other top woods include Adirondack Red Spruce
and Sitka Spruce. Back/side woods
include all the true Rosewoods (dalbergia) and Mahogany. Other woods
available by agreement.
Parlor Guitar
A favorite size in the late 1800's and early 1900's, now coming back
into popularity as a travel guitar. Available woods are the same as
for the slope D guitar. A picture of the prototype will
be available soon.
The Duck Mandolin
The shape of this instrument was inspired by the Duck mandolin
built by the late John Duffey of the original Country Gentlemen. The
points on Duffey's "Duck" were a little larger and more extreme
than ours. I have not seen a record of anyone building this style of
asymmetrical two-point shape recently; it provides more mass than a
standard A5 model and sounds like an F5 model. The instrument shown
is European spruce and European Maple with an
Ebony fingerboard, Allen Monteleone style tailpiece, and Randy Wood
Vintage style bridge. Available back/side woods include American and
European Maples; top woods include European Spruce, Red Spruce and Sitka
Spruce.
